Jo Ann Hess Morrison was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to education and the pursuit of knowledge. A gifted teacher and an avid student, Jo Ann exemplified kindness, generosity, dignity, and humility. She genuinely respected and appreciated people from all walks of life. From Birmingham to Jerusalem, her warmth, wisdom, passion for Judaism, and gentle spirit endeared her to all who were privileged to know her.
Jo Ann Hess Morrison was the visionary behind a preschool filled with Torah and love, bursting with hugs and energy, brimming with Judaism, and resounding with learning and laughter.
Jo Ann passed away after a courageous battle with cancer in 2004. Her memory lives in our beautiful Jo Ann Hess Morrison Chai Tots Preschool and the children who attend and carry on her legacy of love of learning and their Jewish heritage.
