Jo Ann Hess Morrison Chai Tots Preschool fosters a love of Judaism and learning through engaging and meaningful educational experiences, celebrating each child’s individuality in a nurturing and safe environment.
Jo Ann Hess Morrison Chai Tots Preschool is a progressive preschool for Jewish children aged 18 months through Pre-K located in Birmingham, Alabama. It is our goal to provide a warm and nurturing environment where children can grow and develop emotionally, cognitively and physically. We are dedicated to educating children from a broad range of Jewish backgrounds and observances. Our educational programs are guided by our recognition and respect for the unique needs, interests, passions and qualities of each child.
At JAHM Chai Tots Preschool we believe goodness in children is not acquired in school or superimposed by greater authorities, but comes from within. Their goodness continuously seeks to emerge in the forms of sincerity, compassion for others, and their search for answers to the seemingly endless number of questions. Basic precepts such as respect for others, kindness, being a constructive member of a community, tzedakah, and practicing mitzvot are integrated into daily routines and interactive play. Our teachers act as a guide creating opportunities to express each child’s goodness. Throughout the year, we celebrate the Jewish holidays and traditions through music, art, dance and drama, giving our students the opportunity to express their genuine love and excitement for Judaism.
